Thom Melancon, CPA

Senior Vice President-Chief Financial Officer

Thom Melancon is responsible for the executive oversight of the organization’s finance & accounting functions, as well as information systems. Thom also serves on the Finance Committee of St. James Place.

Thom received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University in December 1991 and achieved his CPA certification in July 1992.

Thom began his career as a tax-intern and eventual auditor in public accounting, where he specialized in healthcare and not-for-profits. Thom entered financial management at a large hospital system in Louisiana in 1994, before joining St. James Place in October 2001.

Thom has extensive experience in not-for-profit accounting and auditing, as well as tax-exempt bond financing.
